The purpose of the whistleblowing routines in UIO is to ensure that it is not difficult to report irresponsible, unethical, or illegal situations at the center/place of service, and that these are uncovered and dealt with. A whistleblowing report should include concrete and clear information about the concerning issue and describe:

  • What happened? Is it a legal violation or a breach of the organization’s written ethical guidelines?

  • Who is involved?

  • Where did it happen? Where was it discovered?

  • When did it happen?

  • Has it happened multiple times?

  • Were there any witnesses present?

As a general rule, all cases should be raised with the immediate leader, but it is also possible to report beyond them, for example to the center leader, personnel/national leader.
It is possible to report externally via email to the Ethics Council using the link below. You can report anonymously, and the email cannot be traced. However, if you want feedback and follow-up on the report afterward, it is recommended that you include your name and an email address where you can be reached.
